|title>[About]
The (link-repeat:"Language and Thinking Program")[(open-url:"https://languageandthinking.bard.edu/")] at Bard College is a writing intensive introduction to the liberal arts held during the three weeks before the first semester. The computing component of the program provides all first-year students the opportunity to command computers with language—coding—with the goal of making everyone more informed, critical consumers and empowered producers of digital media.

|title2>[2016 Edition]
During the (link-repeat:"2016 edition")[(open-url:"http://bardcollege.github.io/")] of the program, students attended workshops which introduced the power of code and computational thinking by discussing code as language. This idea was further driven by students learning to read and write for the web using HTML using GitHub with an emphasis on decoding both code and language.
|title2>[2015 Edition]
In the (link-repeat:"first iteration")[(open-url:"http://bard.jsbin.com/")] of the program, students learned how to read and write for the web using HTML, as well as discussed the power of the link using Google's PageRank algorithm as a case-study. Furthermore, they were invited to attend different coding studios which emphasized a range of ways to express ideas whether through motion, sound, graphics or text
